SabCo Productions is proud to release its first line of apparel created to draw attention to the promise of embryonic stem cell research. The ultimate goal is to get as many people as possible aware of the current resrictions in the U.S. and then take action by speaking out to help clarify the misconceptions.

Putting a unique spin on the issue, each shirt is designed to make a bold statement pertaining to a specific disease or disability that could benefit from the advancement of stem cell research. Although some of the messages are light-hearted and fun, the underlying message is very serious.

Hopefully what you see will trigger a desire to get involved, buy a shirt or simply get educated on the matter!

A percentage of profits goes to the Sabrina Cohen Foundation for Stem Cell Research.

Unlock the Cells
Support SCR

On August 9, 2001 Embryonic Stem Cell Research was placed under arrest! Research was locked up, seized and deprived it’s full potential of discovering cures for the most devastating diseases known to mankind.

The Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2005 was created to loosen those restrictions to enable U.S. scientists access to new stem cell lines and more federal funding, yet President Bush vetoed the bill in 2006. The majority of Americans believe this science should move forward. No one is giving up... Your voice can contribute to change.

Forget Alzheimer’s

FIGHT ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

Not knowing the name of someone you love or recognizing the face of one‘s child is no joke. It’s deadly. 1 in 10 Americans has a family member with Alzheimer’s disease, a devastating disorder of the brain that impairs memory, thinking and behavior. The impact of Alzheimer’s on the U.S. makes the disease one of our nation’s greatest medical, social and economic challenges, with annual costs of care at $100 billion. What’s even more challenging however is breaking down the doors that restrict scientists the full advantage of exploring embryonic stem cell research – a research that could potentially cure neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s one day.

My boobs are killer

FIGHT BREAST CANCER

No doubt, breasts enhance a woman’s sex appeal. But they also kill. Every two minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2005, approximately 270,000 new cases of both invasive and non-invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed. Of that, 40,000 women are expected to die. Unfortunately, breast cancer is just one of the many deadly forms of cancer lurking around. Fortunately, one day Embryonic Stem Cell Research may be able to help. But in order to get there, the restrictions on the research need to loosen up.

FIGHT DIABETES

Being stuck with a needle is no fun. Imagine when you have to do it everyday. 18.2 million Americans have Diabetes, thousands of which are dependent on shots of insulin into their arm, leg or abdomen on a daily basis in order to survive. Diabetes is the single most prevalent chronic illness among children, while the leading cause of kidney disease, adult-onset blindness and lower limb amputations. Diabetics are twice as likely to get heart disease or a stroke. Unfortunately, the number of people being diagnosed with the disease is growing at a shocking rate of 8 percent each year.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel… as long as we get the promise of Embryonic Stem Cell Research moving forward.

FIGHT PARALYSIS

Everyone likes to check out the goods but scratch that idea if you’re talking to someone sitting in a wheelchair. Approximately 250,000 Americans have spinal cord injuries, 400,000 have Multiple Sclerosis and 30,000 are faced with the fatal neuromuscular disease named after sports legend Lou Gehrig – All of which are disorders where paralysis robs the individual total control over their own body and walking becomes something you observe from a wheelchair.

Embryonic Stem Cell Research just might hold the key to reversing these neurological disorders. But first we need to stand up as a united force and do something about it.

TURN ME ON!

FIGHT PARKINSON'S DISEASE

Attraction is a powerful thing. But what we’re talking about here is bigger and badder. Over 1.5 million Americans are affected by Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurological disorder resulting from a lack of dopamine in the brain. Symptoms include tremors, muscle stiffness, difficulty with balance, walking and speaking and diminished facial expressions. There is medication to somewhat control the disease but the effects take an individual on a roller coaster ride through a temporary "on state" where symptoms are well controlled, to an unexpected "off state" where symptoms immediately reappear.

It’s time to leave the switch “on” at all times. Embryonic Stem Cell Research has the potential to do that. But not without your help.

WHAT ABOUT NO-HAIR DAYS?

FIGHT CANCER

Most people throw on a cap when they’re having a bad hair day. For others, they feel unattractive and embarrassed after losing hair from chemotherapy. An estimated 1.4 million new cancer cases in the U.S. is projected yearly. Of that, many will be obligated to undergo chemotherapy, a process that uses anti-cancer drugs to destroy cancer cells, in order to survive. The chemotherapy drugs also damage healthy cells, including the cells in the hair follicles, which make a person’s hair fall out while undergoing treatment.

The only good news is, somewhere down the road this type of treatment may not be neccessary. At least Embryonic Stem Cell Research is working towards that goal.

           broken hearts suck!         TOTAL HEARTBREAKER

FIGHT HEART DISEASE                              FIGHT HEART DISEASE

Heart Disease is America's # 1 killer. Now that truly sucks.

Having a Stroke trails closely behind. Some heart attacks are

sudden and intense, with warning signs that include chest discomfort,

shortness of breath, nausea or lightheadedness. Almost 1 million

Americans die of Heart Disease a year, equaling 42% of all deaths.

And Heart Disease doesn't just kill the elderly – it’s the leading

cause of death for ALL Americans age 35 and older.

Stem cell therapies have already been proven to help but restrictions

on research are impeding advances in the United States.
